Transformers wins big box office

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen took in 112 million dollars from Friday - Saturday. Not bad! The movie did start Tuesday at Midnight though... and its five day total equaled out to 201.2 million dollars; it was only 2nd place all time to The Dark Knight which took in 203.8 million dollars in five days. These numbers are only estimates until later today. The reason I bring this up is this: my wife and I went to the movies last night just before 10 P.M. and there were long lines waiting to walk into see Transformers. So these numbers could potentially go up before the end of the day. Studio estimates are usually very accurate, but then again two weeks ago The Hangover won the box office on Monday because the studio underestimated its ticket sales vs. Up. The Proposal did very well in second place for a romantic comedy up against a giant like Transformers. Here's the rest of the top ten... enjoy.

1. "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," $112 million.

2. "The Proposal," $18.5 million.

3. "The Hangover," $17.2 million.

4. "Up," $13 million.

5. "My Sister's Keeper," $12 million.

6. "Year One," $5.8 million.

7. "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3," $5.4 million.

8. "Star Trek," $3.6 million.

9. "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," $3.5 million.

10. "Away We Go," $1.7 million.
