Marlon Wayans replacing Eddie Murphy in Richard Pryor bio-pic

The news that Marlon Wayans was replacing Eddie Murphy in a Richard Pryor bio-pic was very surprising; the fact that Eddie Murphy was playing Richard Pryor in the first place was even more surprising. Hollywoodinsider is reporting that Murphy had to pull out because of scheduling conflicts and Wayans is in final discussions to take over.

I'm a little bummed about this change in casting. Murphy has never been shy in explaining his inspirations for becoming a comedian. He's always given Pryor credit for his decision to become a comedian. The two even starred together in Harlem Nights. The bio-pic will be called Richard Pryor: Is it Something I Said. It's being produced by Chris Rock and Pryor's widow, Jennifer Lee Pryor. It's being made under Adam Sandler's production company, Happy Madison. This sounds like it's going to be good; lets hope it stays that way.
