Quickie: Call of Duty film neccessary?

We didn't know much about this movie leading into this week, but "Call of Duty", the popular video game franchise is being adapted to the big screen. It's looking like it's more of a reality than we thought. I don't want to focus on the news of the film in this posting; I want to focus more on the need... do we really care?

Every war film that I can think of in the past three years (minus The Hurt Locker) was a huge flop, critically and commercially. What's going to be different? A built-in audience? A group of fighters from another time in our country? I don't get it? What's so special, other than the name of the video game, that will make this movie worth watching?

Well, regardless what we think, you know it will be made and will generate a LOT of money. Keep it posted for more.
