There has been an onslaught of Comic Book movies made in the past decade. Some are amazing (The Dark Knight, Iron Man); and some are not so amazing, as in Ghost Rider. The half human, half fire Marvel Comic hero is actually a pretty cool character. He has a great back story and tons of great supporting characters. For whatever reason, Columbia Pictures allowed Mark Steven Johnson, who had already ruined Daredevil, ruin Ghost Rider. The man's writing is so awful my six year old nephew could have written a more compelling story.
Either way, Columbia wants us to forget about the first film, and Mark Steven Johnson, and focus on the greatest comic book movie scribe there is, David S. Goyer. Goyer has been a part of all three Blade movies, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Goyer is exactly what the franchise needs to be reinvigorated. Hopefully fans will be willing to give Nicolas Cage another go in the sequel, which he IS signed for. To be very honest, Cage was the ONLY positive in the first film. Eva Mendez needs to cover her chest and take an acting class or two. We will definitely keep you posted because we're big fans of the genre.
