Variety reports that Warner Brothers studio has let its rights to He-Man expire. The movie has been through multiple developments, with different directors attached, but never quite got off the ground. In this age of film, where everything made is supposed to be a "sure thing", there's no room for He-Man: Masters of the Universe. The toys/TV show has its followers, but not nearly as many as Transformers or G.I. Joe.
I for one was looking forward to this project and even thought the rumor about Brad Pitt as He-Man was intriguing. Nonetheless, the project will be shopped around to other studios. But lets face it, Warner Brothers is one of the biggest in the game; and if they didn't see a potential return on investment, who is? I'm probably going to choke on those words next week, but oh well. Til then; carry on Hollywood, with the don of no new ideas!
P.S. Don't tell anyone, but I loved the Dolph Lundgren Masters of the Universe. Ha!
