David Mamet writing "The Diary of Anne Frank" movie
Variety is reporting Disney Pictures has purchased the rights to a David Mamet version of "The Diary of Anne Frank". This version of the book with feature Anne Frank's coming of age during the Holocaust. Mamet is amazing to those of you who don't know him.
Mamet is responsible for such great work as The Untouchables, Glengarry Glen Ross, Ronin, Hannibal, Heist, and "The Unit" television series (my brother starred in an episode by the way). Not a bad list huh? Mamet is a Pulitzer Prize winner too! The Pulitzer Prize is a U.S. award for achievements in newspaper journalism, literature and musical composition.
His adaptation of this book could be something for the ages. Hope it works out as I imagine it!
