Paul Giamatti to play Larry of the Three Stooges, Jim Carrey out as Curly?

A few weeks ago we told you about Sean Penn leaving the Farrelly Brother's The Three Stooges. This week, the Farrellys are announcing their replacement, Paul Giamatti. The Boston Globe reported the news this past Friday. To me, this is an obvious choice. Giamatti looks the part and has proved his comedic timing is amazing in such films as Sideways and Fred Claus.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is that the paper hinted that Jim Carrey is out as Curly. This is news to us at AtD, because we have not seen one bit of information to validate this. But, it could be so, and if it is, the Farrelly Brothers need to get started looking. I loved the casting choice of Jim Carrey, but there has to be something going on that no one knows about. So we'll have to wait and see.
