People magazine is reporting that Sony pictures is releasing This Is It, worldwide October 30th. The studio paid some 60 million dollars for the rights, and a judge approved the purchase last week. The film is going to showcase hundreds of hours of concert rehearsal footage as well as behind-the-scenes look at Michael Jackson in the final days of his life.
The footage was almost all shot in HD at the Staples center in Los Angeles, CA. This could be the public's last recorded footage of the King of Pop. It was a sad day when Michael Jackson died, especially here in Southern California. It was hard to go anywhere without someone talking about it. So I hope Sony treats this film with the utmost respect that the star's family deserves. R.I.P. to the King.
